Welcome to STATION BLUE, the only blue station beyond the green. Hundreds of trains will pass this stop every day. Please dare to step out of the train and discover the edgy and noisy station. Beyond green will take place on the 9th of November in the World Fashion Centre. You will find STATION BLUE in the hall of the WFC. We will present you our vision on sustainable jeans. Leave all the happy pink flowers and nice little green smiling tree’s for what they are. Mother nature is angry and she will take revenge. See you at the station. And don’t forget to carry a valid ticket with you. Or else….
INFO CORNERS
The info corners offer important players and organizations in the field of durable fashion the opportunity to present and promote their activities. The aim is to inform you of what is happening in the fashion and design system concerning sustainability. Participating organisations are Schone Kleren Campagne, Modint, Cultuur en Ondernemen, Rituals, Lectra, Free Fashion Challenge & Denim Institute.
EXPO SPACES
The EXPO spaces will take you on a journey into the world of sustainable jeans. AMFI students have created innovative jeans to present their vision on the future of denim. In addition, designer Kentroy Yearwood (among others), participant in the main speaker programme, will show his jeans collection Intoxica. Other designers are GLUE JEANS, The Ornamism Project, Beauty and the Geek, Linda Valkeman, Marissa Meulenbeek, Gidi van Maarseveen, Adrian Woods & Thomas Tukker.
SUPERMARKET
The SUPERMARKET will be hosted by former AMFI students Charlotte van Waes and Marieke Vinck, owners of the Amsterdam-based fair concept store Charlie + Mary. They have selected the stores’ best jeans by labels such as Knowledge Cotton and Monkee Genes Apparel for the Blue Station Supermarket. To complete the sustainable look, nice tops and jackets by labels such as Studio JUX and Camila Norrback are on offer, as well as TOMS sneakers and Beyond Skin heals.
SWAP STORE
The SWAP STORE invites visitors to bring their old vintage garments and to swap them for something new. Swapping is not another excuse for the recession. This sharing phenomenon is part of a bigger movement: the rise of conscious consumers who are re-defining the value of things that surround and decorate us.
