DDW MARIJKE TIMMERMAN
Fashion: We can enjoy less
The average Dutch person today owns no fewe then sevety pieces of clothing, and buys thirty more each year. Do we think our craving for new fashion parchases in order to stand out in a crowd may be going too far? In order to combat over-consumption, Marijke Timmerman has designed a collection that will reinforce the bond between garment and the person wearing it.
1 Enough will become more uniquely yours every day through your personal use. A sweater that lives because it will start matting noticeably in certain places. A pair of tights that will ladder in curious ways when you wear them. A dress that will have suddenly changed colours when you take it out of the washing machin. The garment’s uniqueness does not stem from purchasing it, but from it’s owner’s personal use.
